About the Event
17.9 million working days were lost to stress, anxiety or depression in 2019/20 in the UK and mental health issues cost the Northern Irish economy £3.4 billion annually.
Mood Matters Workplace is an introductory mental health awareness programme for employees delivered by AWARE, the depression charity for Northern Ireland. This taster workshop explores the skills and techniques to look after your mental health, manage your feelings when you are stressed, worried or depressed and help you cope with challenges in the workplace and your home life.
Who Should Attend?
Colleagues with responsibility for staff wellbeing or who are interested in exploring a pathway forward in establishing a workplace that is open to developing Mental Health Awareness across the whole workforce. Representatives from HR and Staff development may find the services/training info particularly useful.

Speaker: Nigel Fyffe
Nigel Fyffe is one of AWARE’s Workplace Training and Development Officers. His role includes the development, co-ordination and delivery of AWARE’s portfolio of workplace education and training programmes; these include ‘Mood Matters in the Workplace’, their tailored mental Health awareness programme, ‘Supporting Employee Wellbeing’, a tailored skills development programme for managers and team leaders, and Mental Health First Aid. He is also responsible for developing Aware’s Workplace Mindfulness project and the recently developed E-Learning platform, ‘iAmAWARE’. He lives in Belfast with his wife and two children and spends far too much of his time supporting Liverpool FC; he asks that you don’t hold that against him.
