The new office environment/set up

James manages Allstate NI’s real estate footprint in Belfast, Strabane and Derry with responsibility for making sure the buildings and their services meet the needs of the business. In his presentation, James explores how the future employee’s workplace can be anywhere, not exclusively the office as before. Office layouts and technology need to be redesigned to suit future needs. The future office will need offer value, it should attract employees in rather than being solely a place to report in to for work as it was before the pandemic.

11:20 – Deirdre Doherty – Allstate Northern Ireland - Strategic HR-HR Manager

The strategy for people/culture

Deirdre has responsibility for Strategic HR and Services/Business Partner for Allstate Northern Ireland with a focus on delivery of the People Strategy including Talent, Performance, Culture and Engagement and Organisational Effectiveness. Deirdre shares Allstate's new people/culture strategy for the new workplace, with the goal to create an inclusive, connected employee experience that engages and empowers a flexible workforce in service of the customer and community. And how, as we move into the future of work – with so many unknowns – we have to take an agile/flexible approach.

Securing the Home Office

Debbie works in the Business Development team at SVL as product lead for security and fraud prevention solutions. Scott is an accomplished Online Safety and Cyber Security and Prevention Consultant who possesses a proven track record in designing and delivering robust security solutions and strategies to manage and mitigate risks. In their presentation Debbie and Scott explore how getting the balance right between tech, people and policy is essential for staff working at home, including the key areas of concern, the changes to organisational culture, the importance of cyber security pre Pandemic v Now and predictions for 2021, plus risks, responsibilities, penalties, card payments, fraud etc, including recent examples and statistics.
